SMAC Art Center hosts From Ridge to River
The Southern Missouri Arts Connection (SMAC) will host a solo exhibit featuring the work of artist Dana Neuenschwander entitled From Ridge to River. The show will run September 4-26 at the SMAC Art Center, 7 Downing Street, in historic Hollister, MO.
Dana Neuenschwander is a fine art painter from Nixa, holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Drury University in Springfield, MO and a Master of Arts degree in Art History from Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS. She teaches drawing, 2D design, and art experience at Ozarks Technical College. As a native of the area, she focuses on painting colloquial landscapes and familiar scenes of the Ozarks. A strong sense of place and love of history lead Neuenschwander to create a body of work that traces a journey through the rugged terrain that has shaped generations of life.
Each month during their exhibits, SMAC highlights one of the many local non-profit organizations that serve the area. This month SMAC is drawing attention to Christian Action Ministries (CAM) whose vision is to help people in the Taney and Stone county regions obtain needed resources, to encourage self-sufficiency and independence, and bring together the caring communities in a manner that provides dignity and respect for those they serve. In 2024, CAM’s Food Pantry provided more than two million pounds of food to those in need. Visit their website for more information www.christianactionministries.org
