Mayor Long read to the 5th graders while Chief Stirewalt read to the 3rd graders. The students not only enjoyed the stories read but also asked questions about being the Mayor and Police Chief. As we wrap up phase one of our upgrades to Chad A Fuqua Memorial Park, we would like to say thank you for your patience as we have had areas of the park closed to visitors. The walking trail will reopen this evening, but we ask that you use caution as the final touches on the new portions of sidewalk will be completed next week as well as the areas that were removed for drainage installation. If you visit often, you may notice that the gazebo has been removed due to its condition. There are plans to replace this structure later this year. A huge shout out to our Public Works and Parks Departments as they worked quickly this week to minimize closures! Stay tuned for more upgrades to come to your City Park.
