With the holiday season gearing up, and while the weather doesn’t feel like winter is coming, we know it will be here soon. The City of Hollister has placed our Mitten Tree in the foyer at City Hall, and many have already begun decorating it with hats, mittens, gloves, and scarves. All items are donated back into our community to keep our citizens warm this winter. If you would like to bring in items, please stop by City Hall and help us fill the tree. Thank you for your support in helping our community!!

Last evening, Mayor Lamar Patton turned the Christmas Tree at Hulland Park red, white, and blue in honor of Veterans Homecoming Week. Visit https://5il.co/28i3l to view his message. The City of Hollister is proud of the men and women that have served our country and have allowed us the freedoms to celebrate as a community. This also begins our annual tradition of lighting the Hollister Christmas Trees. Be on the watch each week as we invite community members to choose each tree’s design. In its upcoming art exhibit, Southern Missouri Arts Connection (SMAC) will be featuring the work of 14 area photographers in The Art of Photography. The exhibit will run from November 3-25 at the SMAC Art Center gallery on historic Downing Street in Hollister. The opening reception will be held in conjunction with the First Friday Art Walk on Friday, November 3, from 6-9 p.m. Both the exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. Attendees may view the exhibit, tour the private studios, and enjoy complimentary refreshments. The Vintage Paris Coffee kiosk will also be on site.
